How to prepare a robot request for quotation

Prepare a process brief and shared supplier questions. Separate must-haves from options.

A useful enquiry asks more than a humanoid’s price. It describes the work and evidence needed for acceptance, making responses comparable.

Describe the current process

Include tasks per shift, cycle time, exceptions and target output. Add object dimensions, floors, lighting and access limits. Share photos or drawings only within agreed scope and without unnecessary confidential data.

Questions every quote must answer

Request hardware edition, software scope, commissioning, timing, site needs and exclusions. Ask about operator work and testing. Unconfirmed functions need a verification method and timing.

A comparison attachment

Use identical equipment, tooling, licence, deployment, training, service and parts rows. “Included” needs a defined scope. Record validity date and clarification contact.

Information to start

  • Process description and mandatory needs
  • Identical supplier questionnaire
  • Testing and acceptance criteria

Deliverable to agree

A procurement brief to complete and discuss with selected suppliers.

Scope, fees and responsibilities are agreed for each project. Catalogue listings do not imply manufacturer authorisation or partnership agreements. Equipment and delivery partners require availability confirmation.
