COMMISSIONING

Calibration after replacing robot parts — what should you agree?

Plan post-repair acceptance and responsibility for restoring configuration.

Replacement and commissioning are separate items

A component quote may cover only delivery or installation. Ask whether it also includes the settings and tests needed to return the device to its task.

Match the procedure to the model

Unitree Explore documentation describes support for joint and IMU calibration. This is a feature of a particular ecosystem, not a shared procedure for all humanoids. Selecting the work requires current documentation for the correct variant.

Record the device’s condition

Keep the replaced part’s identification, system version and previous issue description. This helps check whether the test result matches the repair scope.

Accept the agreed task result

Post-repair testing should have defined conditions and criteria. Agree which result allows the process to resume and how any limitations will be documented.
